APPOINTMENT INSTRUCTIONS
-
Please bring government issued photo ID to the appointment. I will need to check the ID of anyone who is signing the documents.
-
Please ensure that all documents are complete and filled in before the appointment (other than areas that must be filled in by the notary), but do not sign them. If the documents are not complete when I arrive, I may not be able to notarize or commission them.
-
Any affidavits, affirmations or declarations must be signed in my presence during the appointment. Please do not sign them in advance.
-
If your documents require a separate witness signature (in addition to the notary/commissioner signature), you must ensure that an additional person attends the appointment to act as witness.
-
If you require a certified true copy of a document, you must bring both the original document and the copy of that document to the appointment. I am unable to make or print copies of the documents in advance.
-
At the start of the appointment, I will review the documents to confirm the number of notary/commissioner signatures required and will indicate the total price for my service. I will then ask you to provide payment by cash or e-transfer and to sign an acknowledgement indicating that I have not assisted in the preparation of the documents, that no legal advice is being given and that I do not guarantee the validity or acceptability of the documents being notarized or commissioned.
If you have questions about these instructions, feel free to contact me.
